We’re looking for our next Senior Fitness Manager!

Join the team reimagining wellness at the highest level.

The Lab is Philadelphia’s first concierge health and human performance company. We partner with world-class organizations, luxury residences, and Class A commercial buildings to deliver best-in-class wellness solutions where people live, work, and stay. We exist to unlock human potential—by making world-class health and performance coaching radically accessible, deeply personalized, and built to inspire.

We’re looking for a Fitness Manager who’s equal parts leader, innovator, and community builder. This is a unique opportunity to lead operations in a flagship Class A fitness center—serving a high-profile client—while also helping us expand our influence within the building through strategic programming, corporate wellness activations, and new client generation.

What makes this role different?

This isn’t your average facility manager position. As the Fitness Manager, you’ll:

  • Serve as the on-site lead for one of our most important building partners—ensuring operational excellence, exceptional service, and alignment with property goals.

  • Act as the on-site catalyst—expanding our impact beyond the fitness center by engaging tenants, generating client leads, and procuring a wellness-forward culture across the building.

  • Collaborate with a team of elite specialists across disciplines—strength, therapy, recovery, performance—who are transforming how fitness is delivered in luxury environments.

  • Grow something bigger than yourself—you’ll play a key role in expanding The Lab’s footprint across Greater Philadelphia’s most influential buildings and communities.

Your Role:

Leadership & Facility Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the onsite fitness center, leading with precision and hospitality.

  • Supervise and develop a team of personal trainers and group fitness instructors.

  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and performance standards; manage vendor relationships and facility maintenance.

  • Enforce policies and procedures that reflect our brand’s elevated expectations.

Programming & Engagement

  • Design, lead, and schedule group fitness offerings (minimum 5 weekly classes).

  • Create seasonal fitness challenges, wellness events, and activation experiences in collaboration with The Lab.

  • Launch campaigns to increase tenant engagement and drive memberships, sessions, and class revenue.

  • Work with corporate tenant leaders to offer concierge-level wellness experiences beyond the gym.

Client Experience & Member Services

  • Deliver personal training and onboarding assessments to new and returning members.

  • Provide white-glove customer service—anticipating needs, addressing concerns, and delivering consistent, personalized experiences.

  • Support digital communications, in-building marketing, and member lifestyle education.

Reporting & Performance Optimization

  • Track usage, engagement, personal training hours, and class attendance; report trends monthly.

  • Monitor membership growth, client lead flow, and key facility KPIs.

  • Participate in on-site management meetings to align strategy, report outcomes, and propose growth initiatives.

We believe the strength of our team comes from our diverse backgrounds and professional experiences. You might be a good fit if the following describes you:

  • A fitness professional with 5+ years of experience in facility management and group exercise leadership.

  • A client-focused leader with a Master’s degree (preferred) and nationally recognized certifications (ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA, etc.).

  • A highly organized operator who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable owning both the vision and the execution.

  • A relationship-builder who can turn hallway chats into personal training leads and stretch breaks into wellness contracts.

  • A problem solver, fast thinker, and team player—ready to learn, teach, and lead.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Increased tenant activation and visibility within the building community.

  • Growing personal training and group fitness revenue month-over-month.

  • Seamless onsite operations and strong feedback from building ownership.

  • A high-performing, engaged coaching team under your leadership.

  • A consistent pipeline of new client leads generated through trust, experience, and activation.

At The Lab, we value resourcefulness, diversity, excellence, and hustle. To give you a sense of what our team is all about and why we are highly sought-after, check out our values that guide our work:

  • We serve our clients. We owe them our unvarnished opinion and unwavering support.

  • We honor quality. The little things matter. High standards and attention to our craft are valued on this team.

  • We favor action and think long-term. We decide and execute with urgency today. We define success with the long-term in mind.

  • We cherish diversity and inclusion. The strongest communities around the world are diverse and inclusive. Like The Avengers, we deploy our individual gifts and talents to collectively help save the world.

  • We do things our own way. We choose to be original and find unique, creative solutions to our biggest problems.

  • We have fun. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Although we work remotely, we stay connected through our technology, collaborative projects, satellite locations, and “Lab Social” gatherings.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

  • Commission on personal training and corporate wellness initiatives

  • Professional development reimbursement

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (optional)

  • Branded performance apparel

  • Mentorship and collaboration with a powerhouse team of health and performance specialists
